FLY DETAILS

Gray Mayfly Cripple
Cripples are technically emerging dry flies that sit low in the surface film, imitating mayflies or other insects that are stuck mid-emergence or injured. This vulnerable posture makes them an easy, guaranteed meal - something trout quickly key in on during a hatch. These patterns are especially effective when fish are ignoring fully emerged adults and selectively feeding on struggling insects.

PRESENTATIONS -
Dry Fly Rig >
Often fished alone in a Dry Fly Rig or used as the trasiling fly in a Double Dry Dropper setup, paired with a more visible lead fly to help track subtle takes.
Double Dry Dropper >
Commonly used as the smaller dropper fly behind a larger, more visible lead fly. The lead fly serves as both an attractor and a strike indicator, helping you detect subtle takes on the smaller pattern.
