Take a picture of aquatic insects to instantly identify them and match the hatch. Look for insects in spiderwebs, under rocks and logs along the water’s edge, or spot spent and crippled insects near the shore or floating in back eddies. Snap a photo with the app—it will identify the insect and ask about fish activity (Reading the Rise). Based on the information provided the app will recommend the best fly imitations and presentations to help you fish with confidence. You can also use the Manual Selection option to identify insects without taking a picture.

Easy to match the hatch
awesome app!! straight forward and easy to use! it has helped a ton with understanding the different insects and the different hatches on the water when it comes fly fishing. It has also help me as a new fly tyer trying to sort out the millions of flies I could tie, all I have to do is take a picture of the insects by where I'm fishing and it generates flies to imitate that insect.

Awesome App
I have no idea what to do when it comes to picking flies and this app has been incredibly informative. Being able to just take a picture and have a list of suggestions pop up has been a game changer and will be a very valuable asset in my future. Overall very well thought out and it looks like this guy did a ton of research! Great app!

SnapHatch is one of the best ideas I have seen in a while!! It will tell you the perfect fly to tie on from a quick picture of some bugs. I have used it a handful of times and ever since I have caught more fish than ever before. The interface is seamless and easy to use. I have told everyone I know about this that’s how awesome it is!

Very helpful
SnapHatch looks like a great app, it will give you reccomendations on what setups to use based on fish activity (hitting top water or not) and what flies you see floating or flying. Seems accurate, I manually selected a fly I see often, and recommended exactly what I usually use. Highly recommend

The snaphatch app is really awesome. Entymology was the hard part of Fly Fishing and this app takes all of the guesswork out of which fly I should be using. Finally an alternative for an Entymology course. Syncing the app was tough, but the customer service chat was very helpful. Great App!
