Match the Hatch
on the water and off the grid!

Snap!
Take a photo of an insect near the water’s edge to identify the hatch, then evaluate the fish activity to find the right match.

Match!
By integrating offline insect recognition and real-time data, the app provides you with the best imitation and presentation.

Catch!
Fish with confidence knowing that you are using the most effective imitation and presentation for the current conditions.

" Successful fly fishing for trout requires the angler to know three things: What are the trout eating? What fly matches what the trout are eating? How do you present the fly to act like what the trout are eating? The SnapHatch app can quickly answer all three of these questions in real time, even without cell service making it ideal to use while on the stream or lake. Snap a picture of any nymph or adult insect and the app will help you Match the Hatch! Spend more time catching fish and less time wondering what fly to use! "

Match the Hatch with Insect Scan—image recognition built to function off the grid. Scan and identify an insect, evaluate fish activity, and select a Reading the Rise option—then the app recommends the most effective imitations and presentations. When a scan isn’t possible, use Manual Selection to compare the hatch to a catalog of identified insects and select the closest option to generate the same recommended match.
Insect Recognition
Digital Fly Box
The Digital Fly Box is designed to match the specific layout of the SnapHatch Fly Kit. You can also use the Digital Fly Box layout to organize your own fly box for streamlined access. When a hatch is matched and the app presents the best imitation, tap the Fly Kit icon in the corner of the image to highlight its location in the Digital Fly Box—then choose that fly from your kit. To learn about each imitation, tap on any fly icon to open the Fly Detail page, which provides specific imitation and presentation information.
Hatch Log

Catch Log
For a streamlined way to log each catch—upload a photo of your fish, and the app automatically populates the date, time, and location along with real-time conditions—including river flow, barometric pressure, and weather. Confirm the species, weight, and length, then add your imitation and presentation to create a complete record in your Catch Log.

When you identify an insect, the app automatically tracks the date, time, and location to build your own Hatch Log. Reference stored match details and recommended flies, with the option to update the Reading the Rise selection to provide a new match as fish behavior changes.

Map
The interactive map provides an overview of Flow Stations, your Hatch Log, your Catch Log, and Live Waters—active hatches reported across the US. By evaluating your recorded data with current conditions on the water, you can identify proven patterns for more successful fishing. Downloadable map sections ensure these insights are always available, even when you are off the grid.
