Blood Knot

The Blood Knot (also called a Barrel Knot) is a popular knot in fishing, particularly used for:

  • Joining two lines of similar diameter, such as a leader and tippet.

  • Providing a strong, smooth, and streamlined connection that passes easily through rod guides.

  • Preserving much of the line's original strength (better than some other joining knots).
