STRIKE ZONE: Spring - Summer

As water temperatures rise and insect activity increases, fish activity will also ramp up. In spring and summer, insects become more readily available as they emerge from beneath rocks and migrate toward shallower water. Fish follow this movement, feeding aggressively on nymphs, emergers, and adult insects throughout the water column. To effectively cover the water without spooking fish, start with a top-down approach, using a dry-dropper setup. If needed, switch to a nymph rig to reach deeper feeding zones.
